Paediatric Tracheostomy for the Speech and Language Therapist

This two day course is aimed at clinicians working with children with tracheostomies in both the hospital and community setting. Workshops will allow delegates to familiarise themselves with different tubes and problem-solve their application. Participants/lecturers will include members of the Therapy, Surgical and Nursing Teams from GOSH and other Trusts.

Topics Include:

  • Dysphagia
  • Communication – options and development
  • One-way valve assessment and management
  • ENT management of the child with a tracheostomy
  • Ventilation
  • The patient’s perspective
