Getting Started

To empower non-academic clinicians to get involved in clinical research in their own workplace. 


The course will be open to all staff at all stages of career. The main target audience is non-academic clinicians. 


This course will help the participants to:

·        explain the benefits of conducting research at a local level

·        define the processes involved in starting and sustaining a study as local principal investigator

·        identify the different roles within a clinical research study team 

·        recognise the potential risks or pitfalls when conducting research 

·        be confident consenting participants for trials and applying the relevant ethical principles

·        describe different methods of sharing outcomes from clinical research 


Free course to all GOSH staff.

The Postgraduate Medical Education Department funds fully-subsidised places on learning events making these free for internal delegates and at a reduced rate for external delegates.  Non-attendance and late cancellations will incur a fee to cover the cost to the department for your place.    Please read the Terms and Conditions of booking before submitting your application.
