Event Overview:

This 2-day virtual conference is aimed at doctors and nurses working with children on dialysis. This conference forms part of the core curriculum for training in Paediatric Dialysis as outlined by IPNA, ESPN and ERKNet.

From the basic principles of PD and HD to state-of-the-art lectures, this is your opportunity to hear experts discuss the care of children on dialysis. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn from experts about vascular access for hemodialysis or haemodiafiltration and for peritoneal dialysis.
  • Trouble-shooting and managing common problems on PD and HD.
  • Understand the relation of uraemic toxins and PD solutions.
  • Learn how to manage common complications on haemodialysis.
  • Understand the complexities of transition.
  • Appreciate the burden of dialysis and learn about quality of life in our patients.

Delegates who reside in low and lower-middle income countries (defined according to the World Bank country classification of low income and lower-middle-income economies) can attend the course for free. Countries that fall into these two groups are on the above webpage listed on the right hand side of the page under 'low income' and 'lower middle income'

CPD: 
RCPCH has approved this activity for CPD in accordance with the current RCPCH CPD guidelines. The basic unit of CPD activity is 1 hour of learning equals 1 CPD credit.

Please note that this event will be recorded (subject to speakers’ consent), with the recording shared with delegates for a short period (up to three months) post-event.

Delegates are entitled to a full refund if they cancel their place more than 14 days before an event. All cancellation requests must be provided in writing to events.gla@gosh.nhs.uk. Personal arrangements including travel, accommodation or hospitality relating to the event which have been arranged by you are at your own risk. The GLA shall not be liable for the cost of these arrangements if you cancel your place at an event or if the event is cancelled or postponed by the GLA.
