Event overview:
The Lewis Spitz & Edward M Kiely Symposium, held in honour of Lewis Spitz & Edward M Kiely, is one of the highlights of the UK Paediatric Surgical calendar. It is followed by the Simpson-Smith Memorial Lecture. This is held in memory of Alexander Simpson-Smith who was a surgeon at Great Ormond Hospital in the 1930s and was tragically lost in action during World War II.
The 76th Simpson-Smith Memorial Lecture will be given by Professor Diana Farmer, Pearl Stamps Stewart Professor of Surgery at the University of California, Davis and Surgeon-In-Chief of UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
Learning objectives:
The Symposium will focus on Innovations in Congenital Malformations and will include talks from Jan Duprest, Dariusz Patkowski and Jan Svenson on oesophageal atresia and antenatal intervention in congenital diaphragmatic hernia, spina bifida and gastroschisis.
Who should attend:
This event is open to all doctors working in or with an interest in Paediatric Surgery. We welcome attendance from other mutidisciplinary members with an interest in the topics being discussed.
