Join the MDT for a 1-day virtual study day designed for Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists working with children and young people with Neuromuscular or Syndromic Scoliosis.
Learning outcomes:
- To have understanding of the pathology of the neuromuscular spine and the impact on the child or young person.
- To understand the assessment, imaging and treatment options available.
- To gain an understanding of the spinal surgical pathway, decision making, post operative management and young person experience at GOSH.
- Collaborate and consolidate knowledge of the management of this caseload in the community setting.
This study day is an opportunity to reflect on current practice, understand the child or young person journey through the spinal pathway and consolidate the partnership between tertiary and community care.

- Conservative Management
- GOSH Surgical Pathway
- Spinal Surgery for Neuromuscular Scoliosis
- Post Operative Management and Return to Activity
- Management of Complications in the Acute and Community Setting
- Case Study and Patient Experience
Current speakers include: Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Orthotist, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Spinal Fellow.
