Speech and Language Therapy Training Day

This online course is aimed at NHS and independent speech and language therapists who work with children and young people presenting with speech difficulties related to cleft palate and non‑cleft velopharyngeal dysfunction (VPD), and who wish to develop transferable skills to enhance their clinical practice.


 The learning objectives of this course will include:

  • To be able to identify speech features commonly associated with cleft palate and non-cleft VPD.
  • To practise complex speech transcription skills
  • To be familiar with the different intervention approaches used to treat speech difficulties associated with cleft palate and non-cleft VPD.
  • To increase knowledge about the communication difficulties associated with 22q11 deletion syndrome.
