Overview
In November 2024 the Child Safeguarding Practice Review National Panel published a report into the challenges that feature in the identification, assessment and response to child sexual abuse within the family environment. It makes recommendations into changes to local and national multi-agency safeguarding policy and practice to better reflect evidence about how to protect children and support family members.
The workshop will be delivered by Dr Alison Steele, Consultant General Paediatrician, specialising in safeguarding children. Dr Steele is a member of the CSPR National Panel and has held several Named & Designate Doctor for Safeguarding Children posts, including at GOSH. Charlotte Barran, Lead Practice Educator for Safeguarding at GOSH will also facilitate the workshop. Dr Steele will discuss the report and its recommendations and will present topics for group discussion. There will also be an opportunity for questions and further discussion at the end of the workshop.
