A Paediatric Simulation Training Course

This course will combine essential teaching in mental health assessment with interactive simulations that afford attendees the chance to practice assessing and communicating with young people with mental health difficulties, while keeping in mind the needs of parents and other members of the MDT. Attendees will leave with the capacity to:

•Judge what information is relevant to provide when referring to child and adolescent psychiatry/psychology

•Formulate a risk assessment of children and adolescents presenting with mental health problems in paediatric settings

•Demonstrate an understanding of the legal framework for children and adolescents presenting with mental health problems

Who should apply: Any patient-facing hospital staff who informally or formally assess risk or encounter risk in the young people they see

Date: Tuesday 5th March 2024

Session time: 10am to 4pm  (face-to-face)

Cancellation Policy:

Delegates are entitled to a full refund if they cancel their place more than 14 days before an event or if we have to cancel the event. Delegates cancelling under 14 days before the event will be charged a fee (currently 50% of the ticket price). All delegate cancellation requests must be provided in writing to Personal arrangements including travel, accommodation or hospitality relating to the event which have been arranged by you are at your own risk. The GLA shall not be liable for the cost of these arrangements if you cancel your place at an event or if the event is cancelled or postponed by the GLA.

The personal data you provide to us on the event booking form is being collected so that we can contact you with important updates about the event, process your payment, notify event partners or individuals shaping the event about the delegate list (only your name, email address, job title and/or organisation will be shared) and to pass on an evaluation survey after the event.
